Just a little update

Hi fluffies,

It's been a while.
&
I'm soooo tired.

Ever since the last time I posted, I've been studying and working like mad. Although I did workout, those were tiny specks of time when I actually get to do what I like. I haven't been on a date in while :'( and I really miss going out with my boyfriend, stress free. I miss heading to places that I like and just walking around charming areas in Singapore. Pretending to be a tourist in my own country is one of my favourite past time.

Can't believe, it is now the 3rd week of December. Have you done your christmas shopping yet? I've done most of mine.. The damage just keeps getting bigger every year >.< Although I must say christmas shopping is fun. As the presents start streaming in steadily, I've been preparing cookies just to give away. One of my de-stressing routines is to bake and cook. Being in the kitchen and whipping up something is like embarking on a major science experiment for my loved ones. Yes, it makes me exceptionally happy whenever my boyfriend and family tells me that I've made something good, or they like my cooking (which is a rare occurrence sadly)

Anyway, some highlights during these tough times:

My boyfriend presented me a ring!!! LOL from Rockme, a mainly handmade jewellery brand from Thailand. The stones used are moonstone and amadite. Moonstone :>

We had ice cream at Sunday Folks, they have the BEST CHOCOLATE SOFTIE EVERRR. I added on some matcha squares because matcha thats why.

And heading out to Da Shanghai for my mom's birthday lunch. Finally a reason to doll up again :)

Just another day at work. Le wild tiny human spotted:

Anyways, I hope you're having a good December so far and Merry christmas in advance. I'll probably blog about working out again after all these festive craziness is over. I really can't wait to take a break and spend christmas eve with my boyfriend gahhh

Throw back to Krabi market crawling.. sigh.. Need a vacation badly.

Little India, Yolo food and workouts

Hi Fluffies!

This week, I tried 5 new workout videos! Haven't been this adventurous in a while so it was a pretty tiring week.. Physically and mentally straining. However, it was fun trying new workouts! In fact, one of the things that relaxes me most is actually a good workout. Somehow time always pass so quickly whenever I do my workouts.

Fat Burning and Abs Workout Level 1 | BeFit in 30 Extreme

Total Body Weight Loss Workout Level 1 (Calisthenics) | BeFit in 30 Extreme

I did this workout right after fat burning and abs workout. I wasn't expecting that from the trainer because he looks too pretty to be serious. But, alas do not judge a book by its cover. I can say this workout's a keeper.

500 Calorie Total Body HIIT workout (NO equipment needed) PLUS Bonus 8 minute AB CHALLENGE!

and then, there's THIS ONE. IT WAS SUPER HARD. For me at least. By the end of the workout session, I literally died on my mat because I was that tired. I do not know if its really a full 500 calories burnt but i felt as if my life was sucked out of me. This really isn't your everyday workout so I'd probably only want to do it once or twice a week if I have no other workouts to turn to.

Quick Ab Workout!

Quick abs by blogilates, nothing too crazy, just the usual sisterly pilates workout :)

Sexy Outer Thighs and Butt Lift Workout!

I tried this for a change. Not very effective compared to the other workouts that I've been doing. In fact, its pretty strange that the trainer seemed to be so tired while doing her own workouts when it didn't really tire my mom and I out.

'YOLO' food of the week

This week, I made something pretty yolo for my mom and I.
3 EGG WHITES and 1 YOLK FRENCH TOASTS~! With strawberry and dark chocolate stuffings and a dash of sherry wine. ^^ I've always loved baguettes more than regular white bread so for this recipe I used baguettes! IMO, I really think that baguettes make better french toasts.
I'll be making it again when strawberries are on sale again haha

My boyfriend and I had another YOLO and adventure day to Little India since Deepavali is coming really soon. As usual, the lights were really pretty and we had alot of fun shopping at Mustafa. ITS A SHOPPING PLAYGROUND hahaha. Everything is sooo cheap!!
As for YOLO food, well, I had 3 vege vadais, deep fried fritters of sorts. Was it worth my calories? Hell no. But, come dinner time at Komalas? Oh yes.

We got tanned after a recent swimming session lol

This is what I'm talking about. KOMALAS. I love komalas, its like sin but vegan style. I don't know if I am the only one but the idea of it being vegetarian used to make me feel better just because there's no meat. But now that I know more about my food, they are really just plates of carbs, carbs, carbs and more carbs.
BUT, I cannot give this childhood sweetheart a miss and honestly, I felt alot more guilty about my 3 tiny vadais than polishing off most of the food on my plate. ( I left the rice out) These are calories well spent okay! I'd gladly come back any day for my Indian food fix.
Oh did I mention, the plate of south indian set costs SGD$6.20. lol so cheap omgz. My boyfriend had the uhm... I can't remember the name of it but it's that triangle giant tortilla lookalike. That was about SGD$5.80? Super affordable. Super NAISE.

Anywaysssss, Happy Hari Raya Haji to everyone!

Gluten & Grain free cupcakes with honey-ed lavender & strawberry cashew cream

This week's new workouts that I tried :)

Train Insane HIIT Workout!

For some reason, I can't seem to embed blogilates' new video here. But it's ok, there's the link and judging from the title, you should know what it is. It is a HIIT workout. Not the toughest from her that I've done, but worked me up a sweat in no time.

And then there was:

Brazilian Booty Burn Workout: Burn to the Beat- Keaira LaShae

To feed my obessesion with building a bigger butt. It felt more like a regular dance cardio workout and I am thankful that I do most of my exercises in the comfort of my home because no one would want to watch me try to keep up with this lady and her dance moves. I'm terrible at keeping with dance cardios. This is one of the easiest ones that I've done. Although I love the idea of dance cardio, but my body just CANNOT COORDINATE FAST ENOUGH.

The next cardio workout I tried was:

30 Day Fat Burn: Cardio Crush Workout by BeFit

I still prefer doing a set by set, rep by rep kind of workout. This one was pretty good. It was easy to follow, simple enough moves, worked me up a good sweat too. I'll probably fit this into days where I just have to work one part of my body. A little cardio to supplement spot toning!

I got these bright coloured cupcake liners recently. They make me want to bake all the time! I've always been a little skeptical about plastic products and heat but these babies can withstand up to 200deg celsius. Pretty cool huh?
Spinach, tuna and cheese frittata that i made the other day, so prettyyy
Compared to regular paper liners, removing these plastic liners is like dream. It came off so easily my jaw dropped. So if you hate the annoying problem of food sticking to cupcake liners, this is a great option.

I was experimenting again and want to try to make some kidney bean cupcakes with lavender & strawberry cashew cream cheese. This time tweaking the recipe a little but replacing cocoa powder with 'coconut flour' (grinded from dessicated coconut).

Little kidney bean cupcake babies in-the-baking.

These cashew nuts are gonna be soaked overnight, blended honey, lavender, and 4 microwaved strawberries to make lavender strawberry cashew cream .

Finally, the cupcake is born!

The addition of 'coconut flour' did help to fluff up the batter a little so its starting to taste more like a regular cake, without all the nasties :)
Cheers to healthy cupcakes :D

CAVALIA & Food & New workout review!

Hi Fluffies,

First things first, new workout review!
Cardio Butt Buster - Fat blasting cardio workout to lose belly fat by Fitness Blender:

I wanted to do something new today so I decided on something that would relate to my legs and butt.. Because BOOTY that's whyyy. This workout is not very hard to do. For me, Fitness blender's workouts have always been quite manageable.. I don't really feel like I am dying and severely out of breath after finishing their workouts. This was no exception, BUT their workouts are definitely effective. Add this to your workout for a little extra bit of cardio and butt work :)

Thanks to my boyfriend, we got to watch Cavalia at MBS today! The show was a great display of the horses and strangely casual and comical in a way. Both my boyfriend and I agreed that we would love to take the derp-iest horse home. I think we could feel the natural obedience from ethical domestication of the horses that we left the show feeling happy.

My very awkward pose with the tickets because I'm really bad at posing.
Shopping arena selling plush toys horsies for crazy prices.
Boyfriend posing with the awesome popcorn which we finished before the first quarter of the show haha (no he didn't gain weight, its just camera angle)
Magical settings galore..

Yesterday, we tried Merely's ice cream for the first time. We ordered a scoop of pandan gula melaka and a scoop of chocolate stout. Ice cream wise, Merely's 1, Creamier 0. Waffle wise, Creamier wins handsdown.

I really wanted to bake so did some experiments in the kitchen and made some gluten/grain free cupcakes! Since embarking on this journey to better health and weight management, I've realised that cutting out refined carbs and processed foods from daily diet is definitely the way to go. Very often I get asked 'What do you eat then?'. I do eat refined carbs and processed foods nearly everyday. But these constitute approximately 20% to 30% of my daily intake. Sometimes a little bit more, sometimes a little bit less. It's definitely hard for me to cut out carbs and sweets because I LOVE DESSERTS. So I try my best to healthify whatever I can while not compromising on getting my 'desserts'
Brownie cupcake and Vanilla cupcake with Strawberry cheese cream
These are gluten/grain free, high protein, zero added fat, and TASTY :P But I'm still working on making the vanilla cupcake less moist as it is a little too fudgy to feel like a regular cupcake. Hopefully I will figure out the best healthified cupcake :)

Happy Eats Happy Girl.

Hi Fluffies,

It's been a while. I'm finally done with school submissions and in the mood to blog again haha. Recently, its been alot of school work, part time job and eating and chinatown (Ahbubu & I love Chinatown) hahaha. I supposed its a fruitful few weeks too since I've discovered some pretty awesome food because one of my favourite things to do is... EAT. EATING, Makes me happy :)

It's crazy how fast mid-autumn festival came and went. Did you have a great time eating mooncakes like I did? My sweetheart bought me mid-autumn festival inspired crodos from Da paolo gastronomia and it was awesome! Albeit SINFUL. My god, the white lotus paste in it was so smooth.

The one with green flowers was filled with golden custard (it tasted more like cheese though). If you are familiar with liu sha bao (I'll have you know that my favourite is from Hua Ting restaurant), you will understand why we had to try this. It was nice but not amazing.

Whereas the one with the pink flowers, it was wonderful :) Smooth white lotus paste (pronounced as Lian Rong) with fried croissant, does that sound like a ring of heart attack to you already? But it's good for the soul baby.

My prince ahbubu goofing around XD

We took a walk along the mid-autumn festival market at chinatown and bought putu piring. SO AWESOME. It's right in front of the very commercialised food market.. doubt u can miss it lol.

And more desserts for us at one of my favourite chinese dessert places, Tong Shui Desserts @ people's park complex.

After everything, we went for a stroll along the riverside to boat quay. Its a rabbit for me and a rooster for my boyfriend this year!

About 2 days ago, to celebrate my final submission, Ahbubu and I went to have MA LA XIANG GUO at people's park complex. I LOVE MA LA XIANG GUO. I love me an epic bowl of hot spicy veges and I'll take it anytime :)

This ma la xiang guo is one of the first few stalls to be set up here and its definitely wayyyyy cheaper than the ones you find at food courts. Compared to this, those are absolute rip offs. I can't really remember the name of the stall we went to, but after some search online, I'm pretty sure we went to the one called 'Ri Ri Hong'.
Just kidding, it wasn't even that spicy because we ordered a 'xiao la'(Minimum Spiciness level) We're definitely gonna try the medium spiciness next time.

And howwwww can we miss the Gula Melaka Ice kachang at Chinatown's hawker food centre??? If you love ice kachang, you have to try this local traditional version from An Ji Xiang Hua Ice Jelly

Okay so this is not from Chinatown, but Pita Pan Marina Square. One of my favourite Mediterranean vegetarian place with awesome hummus and sweet potato fries :3 We got a groupon voucher with a value of $30 so we decided to head there today (Right after llao llao. WHY.) We both agreed that it's probably better to be here after on an empty stomach hahaha

Couldn't stomach the amount of sin on my tray so today ended with some blogilates butt work and tea :)

Amazing Thailand, Amazing Krabi, Amazing Company Part Two

As you can tell, we did alot of eating during our trip and they weren't the healthiest food around. I pretty much YOLOed meal everyday. In fact, I had ice cream everyday because the magnums and cornettos are really cheap in Krabi!

Continuing from my previous post..

Day 5:
4 Island sunset tour plus BBQ dinner.

But first, we've got to have our breakfast!

Vermicelli Pad Thai with vegetables and egg for me while pork porridge for my boyfriend.

We found some fishes left behind by the local fishermen and tried to bring them back for the neighbourhood cats.

Our 4 island tour revolved around Poda Island greatly. It was our first stop and we even had our dinner there.

Catching the wonderful sunset on the beach of Poda Island with my boyfriend.
It ended with a boat ride to a wall of one of the islands and we got to see glowing planktons! It was like magic! Unfortunately it is very hard to take a picture of them because they only glow when disturbed and they weren't enough of them to be bright enough to take a picture.

Day 6:
Last day in Ao Nang and off To the markets again!

We stopped over at a coffee place to chill and wait for the rain to pass. It is currently the off-peak rainy season. Its usually a little cloudy and grey.

Day 7:
Arrived in Krabi Town and the quest for Anchali.

We did a crazy load of walking today! So much walking I missed the bike so bad. However, we did discover some interesting places and of course, the local markets! It is surprising because I really did not expect much to be happening around the town since it is a weekday. But market walking oh yes we did.

This is the corridor of our hotel, Hometel. It is a creepy ass place hahaha my goodness. I wouldn't have stayed here alone. This picture is a too-kind depiction of the real place.

While we were in Ao Nang, we came across a local magazine and read about a restaurant called Ruen Mai Thai Seafood Restaurant. It has been around for over 20 years and we didn't want to give it a miss since we love eating. We got intrigued and did some further research and realised that the original Ruen Mai has been taken over by the former head chef and now named Anchali
Here's my boyfriend trying to mimic my thumbs up pose, he's perfecting it already.

We reached at about 5pm and ordered 4 dishes in total and couldn't finish the mango salad because we were toooooo fuuulllllll. The southern coconut cream soup was delicious. It had so much bamboo shoots inside and I love bamboo shoots. The curry fried crab really good too!
We ordered the burnt eggplant with shrimps as well. The smokey flavour in the soft juicy eggplant soaked in a slightly tart sauce, topped with mint leaves and spring onions was like a beautiful orchestra.

The restaurant looks so beautiful and romantic at night. It was just so so amazing.

We took a long walk back into the town area as we were really full. So back at the market, we bought some breakfast for the next day and look what we spotted!

Cakes for sale at a local night market. I was so amused by it lol.

Day 8:
Home sweet home
This is the first ever overseas trip that I've taken with my prince Ahbubu. I couldn't be happier,  thank you for taking care of me, driving me around and giving in to me all the time, showing me the world, singing to me while on the bike.
I felt really scared at first because I've never been on a motorbike before. But I've gotten so used to riding behind you. I actually miss being on a bike with you now. I miss watching bedtime movies with you already :( I'm sad our little adventure is over..

Although I don't see us coming back in the near future.. I see us going on many more adventures, further and further each time :)
