Metabolic booster workout and legs

Hello Fluffies, 

I haven't been updating much because it's been pretty much blogilates videos everyday. I didn't have time to think about what I really want to do to 'up' my workouts so I just did whatever's on the calendar. 

But for today, I decided to add 2 more workouts to my calendar routine. These are new and I've never done them before.

1. 30 Day Fat Burn: Metabolic Booster Workout:

This one was tiring.. Not as tiring as a full on kick boxing cardio or HIIT workout but still tiring nonetheless. 

2. 30 Day Fat Burn: Legs and Butt Shaper Workout:
This one was... okay? Compared to most blogilates booty workouts, I'd say this is pretty mild. So doable, I can't really feel the burn.

I didn't try the whole 30 day thing. In fact I've never followed any specific diet and exercise plans. I just can't bring myself to cut off all that ice cream and chocolates. My vices.. but they're good for my soul. That's why I've never had the motivation to follow through those 30 day plans, bikini body in 4 weeks kinda thing. I'd much rather take it slow and have no time limit. It's a lifestyle right? Yes. I said yes for you. You have to agree with me lol.
Maybe I'll update again soon after my literature review submission. Until then.. its blogilates videos alll the wayyyy as I drown in school work and my part time job :/

1000 SQUATS

Hi Fluffies,

It's been quite a busy week so far. Despite the hustle and bustle, I did not stop working out and I'm proud to say that I have accomplished the craziest fitness feat for myself so far. 

Absolutely one of my proudest moment.

THE THOUSAND SQUAT CHALLENGE.


I . PERSPIRED . LIKE . A . PIG .
Can I do a 1000 squats? Sure as hell you can. You can go through this 45mins of leg burning because its really not as hard it sounds. I chickened out when the video first came out. Now, I wouldn't mind doing it again.

The final set of 100 squats was the hardest because the rollover squat variation took a toll on my lower back for some reason. Otherwise, it was good.

The rest of the week would be a ton of blogilates videos according to the calendar which I urge you to check it out because it is sooo convenient to be able to just follow a regime for the whole week and not worry about which parts to work everyday!

Saturday Cardio & toning and Sunday GYM DAY WITH BOYFRIEND FOR THE FIRST TIME

Hello Fluffies,

Its a week of getting used to new things. For instance, the gym that I've been going to is going to close down soon. I'm gonna start my part time job next weekend which means :( no more gymming on sundays :( no more ice cream sundays :( 

Definitely a lot of planning and scheduling to be done. Oh and my first assignment is due Sept 12th. I think I'm gonna struggle with the 3000 word essay. 

Anyways, I hit the gym with my boyfriend for the first time today! It's leg day for the both of us and we did a few exercises. Not as much as usual but I was sweating ALOT more than usual.. which is quite disgusting coz a bead of my sweat actually dripped onto my boyfriend's lap >.<

What I did:
1. Running with 4 incline:
    1.2km
2. Squats with 15kg weights each side:
    3 sets of 10 reps 
3. Squats with 15kg weights each side with 20kg Barbell:
    3 sets of 8 reps 
4. Hamstring curls with 4kg weight:
    3 sets of 8 reps 
5. Standing kickbacks with 6kg weight:
    3 sets of 10 reps each leg 
6. Standing side swing with 5kg weight:
    2 sets of 10 reps each leg
7. Random punches:
    A few times
8. AB rollers:
    2 failed attempts

That was it for the day. Not alot of work done considering I would usually do dead lifts, walking lunges and quad extensions. But I felt more tired than usual :/

Last night, I went to Crystal jade at Holland Village for the XLB buffet with my friends. It was a buffet, I definitely had to 'prep' and workout before I head out to sin big time. So here's the workout for Saturday's Piggin' Out:

Backlogs and Friday ARMS!

Hello Fluffies,

It's been a short while since I last did a log! Like ever since the day I left for Bangkok I think. I did follow through working out regularly but just did not have the time and energy to post them. I've been waking up and leaving home early in the morning and going home late at night. Thank god my boyfriend's been by my side these few days to help me pull through the sudden crazy schedule.

If you are wondering about how my Bangkok trip was, I will be doing a separate post on it, filled with pictures and ADDRESSES so you can go check those places out if you happen to be heading to Bangkok anytime soon. 

And yes I did managed to workout ONCE while in Bangkok haha. Here's a picture of the hotel gym. Can I say its very badly stocked??? NO BAR BELLS. WHAT. and no squat machine. We had to share the machines. 
Here's the workout sequence that I did(base on what I can remember):
1. Running on thread mill:
    15mins 
2. Squats, holding 2 of 8kg dumbbells:
    3 sets of 15 reps 
3. Walking lunges with kick backs, holding 2 of 8kg dumbbells:
    3 sets of 15 reps 
4. Tricep stretch with 8kg dumbell:
    1 set of 15 reps (My arms nearly snapped)
5. 20 sit ups (lol, I rly hate sit ups)

Yesterday, I was pressed for time but wanted to pack more punch into the short workout time that I had. So here's my choice of workouts if you are interested to know how I try to fit in more work into a short frame of time.:
2. Thigh trimmer and butt lifter <- Toning work
3. Lolo jones legs and lunges workout <- Toning and light cardio

I try to work more of my legs whenever I'm pressed for time because our quad muscles burn more calories as compared to the other muscles in your body. Short intense HIITs or cardio workouts are also the way to go to have the effect of afterburn so that your body stays fired up for the most part of the day. 

For today, I had more time and did more toning work and because its the time of the month, I didnt want to go too crazy on my body in the cardio department.:

Tuesday Abs and Wednesday Arms&Shoulders

Hello fluffies,

There's a whole lotta blogilates videos coming up.

It was cardio abs workouts for Tuesday! I switched one of the ab workouts out for a cardio instead because cardio is more important than ab exercises if what you really want is to achieve 6pec abs etc.

I gotta admit I got worried when I saw Wednesday's workout plan but as usual, I went with it anyway.

Sunday Gymless butt day & Monday Core day

On Sunday's I'm supposed to gym to build my butt. The sore throat and flu just wouldn't go away >.< 
However, I did some low impact butt workouts. Here's what I did:

Come monday, Still not that much better. But I did a set of core workouts which aren't too strenuous.. For me at least lol.

Saturday thoughts

Hello fluffies,

I'm down with fluuuuuuu. I don't know about you but whenever I'm sick, I get hungry. Like ravenous. It's hard because I know I've gone well over the limit of my daily recommended calorie intake. And yet I still feel incredibly hungry. I just crave everything! Me no like to feel hungry :( I'm glad I was in the comfort of my boyfriend's arms. 

I decided to write about some thoughts about Thursday's orientation. It was daunting. 
I felt exactly the way that I did before when I was back in Temasek poly.
Years back, I felt very insecure about my size. It was something that people have cruelly made me feel day in and day out. I remember every disgusted stare, every blatant comment about how I've grown bigger, every time when some one tries to rephrase a comment about my weight and every time someone tells me to control myself and what I eat. 

Someone even told me that if I were skinny, we would have been best friends. Though I was never interested in her friendship.

The labels on the thin model are not untrue. When we see a beautiful well groomed person, we automatically slap on these labels subconsciously.  I admit that there are times when I've judged similar looking girls. Being fat, I automatically assumed skinnier prettier girls will all be mean to me. 

Still so clear and vivid, I remember that on the very first day of poly, I kept my mouth sealed shut. I didn't speak to anyone until I reached home. At that time, I was nursing a broken spirit and self conscious about my size. Just like a bull in a china shop. In my mind, I kept believing that I'm just going to irk my classmates because of how big I am. I kept thinking I was taking up a lot of space in between the 2 ladies sitting by my sides. 
That was about 5 years ago.
I took about 1.5 years to get to wear I am right now. It is very weird because I always thought I've grown to be used to this size that I am right now. Turns out, I'm really not. 
On Thursday, I walked around refusing to look at anyone else in the face, other than occasionally peering at the pretty female classmate and marvelling at her lace top. When I walked up the stairs, I tried to walk slower and lighter. Every step I took, I tried to minimize the imaginary impact caused by my weight. 


Yet every time I see myself in the mirror, on the glass windows, or any reflective surface, it's a shock to me that I'm about the same size as everyone else. I'm no longer a plus size girl. I'm no longer a broken spirit, but a happy one. Maybe too contented that I'm starting to get lazy about life. 

I've made a mental note to be as kind as I can to fluffier people and also to myself. It is not easy trying to shake off the labels that people have given me and it is not easy to be contented after shaking it all off because once you know you've come this far, you believe you can go further and maybe earn other better 'labels'. 
I have a tough time letting this sink in but I'm trying. If you are facing the same problem as me, I hope that you know you are not alone and we're all trying. :)

Friday rest day

It's Fridayyyyyy

Not that it makes much of a difference to me but, TGIF! I hope you will have a wonderful weekend :)
Headed down to the east today and basically got caught in a series of never ending blizzards. My attempt to warm myself up by walking through the night market and eating hot food didn't help much. In fact, I'm down with a flu now. :(

Luckily, I did my workouts earlier today before heading out. Or else I would have no strength to do anything!

3. 100 squats. 
My inspiration for doing a random 100 squats came from watching Cassey's new 1000 squats challenge. I used to think weight 20 squats to like... 5 burpees maybe. Now, a 100 is not many. In fact, it barely felt like a warm up. Working out everyday definitely made me a stronger girl. The numbers do sound scary. But I do believe that with effort, they are achievable.. Maybe one of these days, I'll give the 1000 squats challenge a try. But right now after a long cardio and arm toning session, what do we say to a 1000 squats?
